PICKING UP THE PIECES: SUCCESSFUL SINGLE LIVING

MAKING THE MOST OF A DIFFICULT SITUATION

The purpose of this discussion is to give hope to the participants by enabling them to know that God can work for their good in their present situations.

DEVELOPING A HEALTHY SELF-LOVE

A person cannot love another more than one loves oneself. This session will give the spiritual truths for the foundation of a healthy self-love based on our position in Christ.  From these foundations will be drawn practical applications as to the meaning of self-love.

HOW TO TRUST AFTER BEING BURNED

When we are hurt, we become distrustful. Yet, we must maintain trust to have a positive relationship. The way to restore trust is through  faith in God and dealing with all bitterness.

LOVE WHAT IS IT?

Love is an action, not an emotion. The meaning of love will be described by using I Corinthians l3:4-7 to illustrate the behavior of love.

COPING WITH LONELINESS

Loneliness is not having anyone to share the meaningful joys and sorrows of life.  To deal with loneliness, we must know how and where to find true friends.

SEX AND THE SINGLE

This is a presentation of God's purpose for sex, the definition of valid sex, and the consequences of defective sex. A valid alternate means of fulfilling the sex drive will be presented.

THE BATTLE BETWEEN THE SEXES

This unit will give a better understanding of the differences between male and female. This understanding is necessary for them to complement one another.

SOLO PARENTING

The purpose of this session is to enable the single parent to be more effective by understanding the feelings of the child, to become a worthy parent, and find ways to meet the needs of the child.

PREPARING FOR "RE" MARRIAGE

This is a study of the Biblical truths about divorce and remarriage. The practical problems that need to be resolved to effect a good marriage will be discussed.

IíM NOT PERFECT BUT I'M IMPROVING

The purpose of the closing session will be to give encouragement. None of us are perfect, but improvement offers hope.  Growth is what God desires for all His children.
